We found this online tax filing program to be expensive and a bit difficult to use. For example, the basic service is $29.95; however, for electronic filing, it costs an extra $20 and to get your money transferred to your bank account it is another $33. They also charge an extra $10 each for itemized deduction, earned income credit, childcare credit and so on.

Intuitive Navigation:  

The W-2 sheet is a form you must fill in instead of answering prompted questions. Other parts of the program lack intuitive structure.

Novice-Friendly:  

In order to use this service you need to have a fair amount of tax knowledge. It is not a good option for novice users. It does verify information that you enter before you go on to minimize mistakes.

Ease of Sign-up:  

Because this product is online, no download or installation is necessary. You do have to setup an account, though, which takes a few minutes, and so you must keep track of your account name and password.

Feature Set:

Help/Documentation/Search:  

The only help found in ExpressTaxRefund is a FAQ section, a tax guide and tax tools. Nevertheless, they are not extensive enough to help a novice. The only contact methods they offer are by mail and telephone.
